F1 fans overwhelmingly believe Alpine will replace Jack Doohan with Franco Colapinto either before or during the 2025 summer break.

The Australian driver appears to be under considerable pressure to hit the ground running when the season gets underway with his home grand prix, in Melbourne, in March.

Having secured the seat alongside Pierre Gasly when he signed on the dotted line last summer, the emergence of Colapinto in the back-end of the year seemingly put Doohan’s position at Team Enstone under threat.

Despite having Paul Aron and Ryo Hirakawa already lined up to fulfil test and reserve duties, Alpine sought to release the Argentine from his Williams contract to further bolster its ranks, something that played into the pre-existing narrative.

A recent poll conducted by RacingNews365 found that over 75 percent of respondents do not believe Doohan will survive in his current role past the summer break.

More damning still, over 43 percent have placed weight in the unfounded rumour that the 22-year-old is at risk of being replaced just five or six rounds into the year.

Just 15 percent of those who voted feel Doohan will not be replaced by Colapinto at all.
